Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hosts Knowledge Session on HMPV Virus and Regenerative Medicine
10th January 2025, Greater Noida – The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) successfully concluded a knowledge session today, focused on addressing the growing global concern of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) and advancements in regenerative medicine.
Held at Patanjali Hall, the event featured expert presentations on the detection and management of HMPV, which is increasingly recognized as a significant respiratory virus, particularly affecting vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with compromised immune systems. Topics covered included the latest techniques in viral detection and clinical management strategies for HMPV infections. The session also explored innovative approaches in regenerative medicine, especially their potential applications in viral research and treatment.
Brig Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Director of GIMS, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of preparedness in addressing emerging health challenges. He also assessed the readiness of the Research Wing and testing faculty in combating respiratory viruses like HMPV.
